Well, this is still in SketchUp, so there is no actual rig to speak of. The way I ususally do this is make each part a component. Then, I copy/rotate each individual part to its maximum position. In this example, you can see that the top pic shows the middle part of the pincher at its farthest inward rotation, and the middle pic shows the tip of the pincher at its farthest inward rotation.

You can see some lines at the center pivot point. I use those to rotate from and keep everything in line, and I have one in both components that would use that rotation point. I continually make small adjustments, and move things around, so having that line in the same place on each component really helps to re-align them.
